It was a sold out show with 80.000 people.
Saw Xutos & Pontapés (for the 4th time, all in Rock In Rio editions: 2004, 2012, 2016 and now 2024) now with Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa live.
Saw Extreme (for the 3rd time) live. The "Thicker Than Blood Tour 2024".
I went to Rock In Rio especially to see Evanescence (for the 3rd time) live. The "The Bitter Truth" Tour.
And also saw Scorpions (for the 1st time) live. The "Love at First Sting 40th Anniversary" Tour.
I arrived at Rock In Rio at 6 am. Sunny day. I went to the road to the main entrance to enter later, waiting that somebody else came. Around 7 or 8 am people start arriving.
After waiting for a few minutes on the main entrance we got in. We got inside at 1 pm. We had to run to be checked by the police. And after that we had to run again to the main entrance where they checked our tickets. A lot of people ahead of us taking photos, making videos and trying to give us "things". And then we had to run again already inside to go to Palco Mundo.
At 1:05 pm I was already on front row on the right side of the stage in the place where I wanted to stay.
Finally I could rest on a sunny and windy day with the river on my left.

The first band on stage was Xutos & Pontapés with Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa. They played for 56 minutes (16:00 - 16:56).
Saw them for the 4th time, all in Rock In Rio editions:
2004/05/30 (with Seether, then Xutos, Charlie Brown Jr., Kings Of Leon, Evanescence and Foo Fighters),
2012/06/03 (Kaiser Chiefs, James, then Xutos and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band),
2016/05/19 (Rock In Rio-The Musical, Stereophonics, then Xutos and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band)
and now 2024 live. This was a special show that Xutos & Pontapés had already thought about a few years ago and it was finally possible to come to fruition.
It was nice, a little different with the orchestra. Xutos & Pontapés were happy. The orchestra conductor was always jumping from one side to the other, it was cool to see.

The second band was Extreme. They played for 59 minutes (18:03 - 19:02).
It was amazing to finally be able to see them again. Last time I saw them live was 30 years ago:
1992/11/06 (with Joker, Thunder and then Extreme) in Pavilhão Dramático de Cascais, Cascais,
1994/06/12 (Extreme and Aerosmith) in Praça de Touros de Cascais, Cascais,
and now 2024 live.
I love the show. Gary Cherone the vocalist always jumping around from one side of the stage to the other. And Nuno Bettencourt always amazing with his guitars.
Extreme are a band from Boston, USA.
When Extreme played "We Will Rock You" by Queen Nuno arrived with a Benfica hat, his heart club.
Nuno spoke portuguese a few times during the show.
One time he said "I went to the United States of America when I was four years old. When I return to the Azores, to Portugal, everyone says that's where I'm happiest". This was just before a magic moment when a Portuguese flag fluttering on the screen on the stage. And Nuno started playing an acoustic version of the national anthem (Portuguesa), which made the audience join in in unison and sing the lyrics.
After this incredible moment Nuno started playing with his guitar "More Than Words" and Gary Cherone joined in to sing. Of course, the audience sang along to these amazing lyrics.

Before the last band, Rock In Rio show us the celebration of 20 years of Rock in Rio here in Lisbon in the screens and with fireworks. They call it Show 20 Years. It took 8 minutes (22:20 - 22:28).
Was cool to see the memories in videos of bands and singers that they had in the last 20 years on the Rock in Rio stages here in Lisbon.
The fourth band was Scorpions. They played for 96 minutes (22:31 - 00:07 and encore 23:50 - 23:53).
Scorpions perform a 17-song set at Rock in Rio Festival, 15 songs plus 2 on the encore.
It was my first time watching them. Happy to see them here in Rock In Rio finally.

Amazing how Klaus Meine has already 76 years old. He moves very slow but stil has an amazing voice.
It was a great rock show. Voice, guitars, drums were awesome. Cool to see the guitar players always running around the stage.

Evanescence 2022-12-12 Campo Pequeno, Lisbon

The tour of Evanescence is: "Worlds Collide Tour".
It was my 2nd Evanescence show. My 1st one was in May 30, 2004 here in our 1st Rock In Rio at Parque da Bela Vista, Lisbon.
I arrived at Campo Pequeno at 06:25 am of Monday. It was a windy, rainy day (all day). Doors opened at 19:00 and Evanescence was scheduled to start at started at 21:30.
Before "Evanescence" in Campo Pequeno, played Tigress, they started at 20:30 and played 29 minutes. Played a set of 8 songs.

Sean Bishop (Guitar)
Josh Coombes (Drums)
I never heard of them before. They were cool. Some cool rock sound with an awesome vocals lady, Katy Jackson.
