I went to Rock In Rio to see Bruce Springsteen (for the 3rd time) live. This time was "The River Tour 2016". Another big and sunny day of waiting. But it worth every minute of it.

It was the third time the BOSS was here in Portugal to do a live show. I was on the first show he did here in Lisbon on May 1st, 1993 at Estádio José de Alvalade (23 years before). This 1993 show was really awesome. I remember to see Bruce Springsteen playing for 3 hours. And the second show was 4 years ago also in Rock In Rio on June 3rd 2012.

I arrived at Rock In Rio at 5 am. Still night. Cold night. I sat up a little on the road where we will be in line to enter later, waiting that somebody else came. Other fans of Bruce Sprignsteen began arriving a little after 8 am.

Just before 4 pm me and other fans started to run up the long road, hard race until the main entrance. I managed to go to an empty door of close to 15 or 16 doors available to stop.

A few minutes later we get in. A lot of people ahead of us taking photos and trying to give us "things". Well, so I run to the front and then went behind other fans to the left side but I notice the right side was almost empty. So I turned around, just couldn't run anymore. Walk a little behind the bars and there I ended up on the right side that was where I wanted to go. I saw a friend of mine on front row with a little space on his right side and went there.

Finally I could rest on a sunny and hot day.

Before Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band in Rock In Rio, Lisbon we saw a musical "Rock In Rio - The Musical", we also saw the bands Stereophonics and Xutos e Pontapés.

The first act was by Rock In Rio - The Musical. 60 minutes.

The next band on stage was Stereophonics. They played for 71 minutes.
This was the first time I saw them live. They were nice. To be honest I knew their name but never hear them before and what I heard before I did not enjoy. But to be honest they were cool. I like 2 songs they played, I think they were: "White Lies" and "Mr and Mrs Smith".

Finally was time for Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. He started the show at 23h53 and played for 159 minutes.

Bruce and band perform a 27-song set at Rock in Rio Festival, only the third time Springsteen has played in Portugal.

Spice Girls: 'Girl power reigns'

The 90s girl band make first public appearance together since 2008 at the launch of the 'Viva Forever' musical

The Spice Girls reunited for the first time in four years today (June 26) at a press conference held to launch new musical, 'Viva Forever'.

The conference, which was held at the St. Pancras Renaissance London Hotel where the group shot the music video for debut single 'Wannabe', saw the quintet speak about their involvement with the production, as well offer their thoughts on the band's lasting 'girl power' legacy.

When asked if she thought girl power was still alive today, Mel C replied "Absolutely, of course it is. It will never die. The biggest artists in the world today are women – Beyonce, Rihanna, Jessie J, Adele. Girl Power reigns." Geri Halliwell added:

"The musical is testimony that girl power has longevity. Who would have thought 16 years later that our songs and the message of them is still standing and still carries on, just in a different way. It's brilliant"

Mel C also also stated that "when we watched the workshops, each time the song ['Viva Forever'] started we got goosebumps. It brings back so many memories, so it's a lovely thing for us to see our songs performed each night in a theatre."

'Viva Forever' has been written by Absolutely Fabulous star Jennifer Saunders and tells the story of Viva – a wannabe performer who enters a talent contest – and her family. The show will feature a number of songs by the legendary girl group, including a mash-up of 'Mama' and 'Viva Forever', and is due to open at London’s Piccadilly Theatre on November 27.

Went to see for the 2nd time the amazing musical by Ben Elton "We Will Rock You". 1st time I saw it was in June 27th 2003.

Both times I went to London to see live concerts, 1st Bon Jovi in June 28th 2003 in Hyde Park. And in 2009 to see 2 shows by the amazing Pink in the O2 Arena on May 1st and 2nd 2009.

I was free on the day before the live shows so I chose to see this musical. A teacher of mine told me he loved this musical. This was before 2003 and as I also love the band "Queen" I had to go see it.

The 1st time in 2003 I was really amazed and this time was with some new actors and was also amazing. This time "Galileo" was played by a portuguese actor named Ricardo Afonso.

Ricardo is originally from Portugal, arriving in England in June 2005. He is delighted to be back performing the role of Galileo in We Will Rock You, having previously played the role between 2007and 2009. Most recently he performed as lead vocalist in Strictly Come Dancing- The Professionals tour. Prior to that he played the role of Willie Lopez, in the workshop of the new musical Ghost directed by Matthew Warchus, and has appeared twice in The Night of 1000 Voices at the Royal Albert Hall.

Recording credits include: Dreamer for the album based on the Terry Pratchett book Only You Can Save Mankind, composed by Leighton James House; The Meerkat Muchachos for the album Bush Tales, composed by Matthew Jameson. Ricardo is also one of the regular singers for the ongoing summer concerts A Rock and Symphonic Spectacular since 2007.

Ricardo fronted the cast of We Will Rock You in the opening of the handover ceremony for the Olympic Games 2012, live on BBC1 and in front of Buckingham Palace. This is still one of the most exhilarating moments of his career.

In Portugal his voice-over and recording credits include: Spirit in Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron for Dreamworks; Robin Hood in Shrek for Dreamworks; Mighty Ducks for Disney; Beauty and the Beast for Disney; 102 Dalmatians for Disney; Ducktales for Disney and the album Pokemon.

Along with Ruy Fingers, he composed the songs for the Portuguese TV series Super-Pai, which they then co-produced into an album achieving silver record.

Ricardo is also no stranger to seafaring. From 2004 to 2005 he worked on many production shows aboard the Queen Mary II and Queen Elizabeth II for Cunard, and Prinsendam for Holland America.

The London production, which led the way for world-wide productions in Australia, Japan, Germany, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, US (Las Vegas), and throughout Asia is now in its ninth year on stage at The Dominion Theatre. It is booking ahead to July 2011.

In August 2005 the show officially became the longest running musical to play at the Dominion, one of the West End’s biggest theatres. It took the record from the previous title holder, Robert Stigwood’s Grease, which ran at the Dominion for 3 years and 3 months. In setting a new performance record at the theatre, We Will Rock You overtook The Dominion’s previous box office hits Beauty and the Beast, which played for 2 years 7 months, and Dave Clark’s Time, formerly the third longest-running show at 2 years.

We Will Rock You’s lengthy run at the Dominion also puts it ahead of the filmed version of The Sound of Music, which stayed on screen at the Dominion for a little over 3 years.
