I went to Campo Pequeno in Lisbon to see Marilyn Manson live.
First part of Marilyn Manson was by "Esoterica".
Took some photos of Esoterica and photos and videos of Marilyn Manson.
It was the third time that I went to see him live. After 1998-Nov-29 and 2007-Nov-19. Those 2 shows were in Pavilhão Atlântico. This 2009-Dec-01 was on Campo Pequeno. This was not my favorite show of him but was very good. My favorite was the one in 2007. I was the first one to get inside Campo Pequeno and I choose the middle of first row.
First part was by Esoterica. They played for 29 minutes.
Finally was time for Marilyn Manson. He played for 82 minutes.
Campo Pequeno was half empty to receive Marilyn Manson and his band. His real name is Brian Hugh Warner (born January 5, 1969).
On a cloud of smoke the members of their band got on stage. Marilyn Manson was with some laser claws.
The great "Disposable Teens" composed by Twiggy Ramirez who is now the guitar player of Marilyn Manson (before he was the bass player).
In "Pretty As A Swastika" the nazi signs where replaced by the dollar sign.
During the several changes of songs the audience saw some transformations of Marilyn Manson. From a soldier to a bible preacher with the bible on flames in his hand.
"Dried Up, Tied And Dead To The World", brought Marilyn Manson with a electric guitar that he throw to the floor like the mics that already went down before.
Marilyn Manson defended the use of drugs before "The Dope Show". "Consume all drugs possible" said Marilyn Manson.
Marilyn Manson grab a poster from the public where it was this: "Oh Twiggy, how I love those lovely nipples".
A rain of confettis closed the show.
Here it is the setlist:
1. Cruci-Fiction In Space
2. Disposable Teens
3. Pretty As A Swastika
4. Love Song
5. Irresposible Hate Anthem
6. Four Rusted Horses

Rammstein, 2009-11-08 - Pavilhão Atlântico, Lisbon
I went to Pavilhão Atlântico in Lisbon to see Rammstein live for the first time (Sunday).
First part of Rammstein was by "Combichrist".
I don't like Rammstein but I only went because a friend invite me.
The sound was amazing. I was on the first balcony.
Took some photos of Combichrist and photos and videos of Rammstein. I will not show online the Rammstein photos, only the videos.
First part was by Combichrist. They played for 33 minutes.
I liked the first part of their act, techno sound very cool. But the final part I hate it because the vocalist "grunts" a lot and I didn't understand a word he said.
Finally was time for Rammstein. They played for 96 minutes.
They sang in german so I didn't understand what they were singing. A good stage show with a lot of fire scenes (not speaking the music). During the show they even put a man on fire and a member of the band went up the audience in a float water device.
Here it is the setlist:

Patrick Wayne Swayze (August 18, 1952 – September 14, 2009) was an American actor, dancer and singer-songwriter. He was best known for his tough-guy roles, as romantic leading men in the hit films Dirty Dancing and Ghost, and as Orry Main in the North and South television miniseries. He was named by People magazine as its "Sexiest Man Alive" in 1991. His film and TV career spanned 30 years.
Diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer in January 2008, Swayze told Barbara Walters a year later that he was "kicking it". However, he died from the disease on September 14, 2009. His last role was the lead in an ill-fated A&E TV series, The Beast, which premiered on January 15, 2009. Due to a prolonged decline in health, Swayze was unable to promote the series. On June 15, 2009, Entertainment Tonight announced the show's cancellation.
Early life
Patrick Swayze was born on August 18, 1952, in Houston, Texas, the second child of Patsy Yvonne Helen (née Karnes; born 1927), a choreographer, dance instructor, and dancer, and Jesse Wayne Swayze (1925–1982), an engineering draftsman. He had two younger brothers, actor Don Swayze (born 1958) and Sean Kyle (born 1962), and two sisters, Vickie Lynn (1949–1994) and Bambi. He was a sixth cousin once removed of news commentator John Cameron Swayze, and a relative of noted Texas Revolution soldier Henry Karnes. Swayze was raised Roman Catholic.
Until the age of twenty, Swayze lived in the Oak Forest neighborhood of Houston, where he attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic School, Oak Forest Elementary School, Black Middle School, and Waltrip High School. During this time, he also pursued multiple artistic and athletic skills, such as ice skating, classical ballet, and acting in school plays. He played football for his high school and was hoping to receive a football scholarship for college until a knee injury ended his career. He studied gymnastics at nearby San Jacinto College for two years.
In 1972, he moved to New York City to complete his formal dance training at the Harkness Ballet and Joffrey ballet schools.
Illness and death
In late January 2008, Swayze was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer (specifically, intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm). He traveled to the Stanford University Medical Center for chemotherapy and treatment with the experimental drug Vatalanib, the latter of which doctors hoped would cut off the blood supply to the tumor. On March 5, 2008, a Reuters article reported that Swayze "has a very limited amount of disease, and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far." Swayze's doctor confirmed that the actor was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but insisted he was not as close to death as reports suggest. Despite repeated tabloid claims that his death was imminent, Swayze continued to actively pursue his career.
In early May 2008, it was widely reported in a number of tabloids that Swayze had undergone surgery to remove part of his stomach after the spread of the cancer and that he had rewritten his will, transferring his property to his wife. In a statement made on May 28, Swayze said that he continued to respond well to treatment at Stanford University Medical Center. In late May 2008, he was seen at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game, his first public appearance since his diagnosis. In 2008 Swayze was treated with Cyberknife radiotherapy cancer treatment.
In late July 2008, six months after reportedly being given just weeks to live by medical experts, a healthy-appearing Swayze was asked by reporter in Los Angeles airport about this health. He replied, "I'm cooking. I'm a miracle dude. I don't know why".
Swayze appeared on the ABC, NBC, and CBS simulcast of Stand Up to Cancer in September 2008, to appeal to the general public for donations for the initiative. Swayze said to a standing ovation "I dream that the word 'cure' will no longer be followed by the words 'it's impossible'. Together, we can make a world where cancer no longer means living with fear, without hope, or worse". After the show ended, Swayze remained on-stage and talked to other cancer patients; executive producer Laura Ziskin said, "He said a beautiful thing: 'I'm just an individual living with cancer'. That's how he wants to be thought of. He's in a fight, but he's a fighter". In late 2008, Swayze denied claims made by tabloids that the cancer had spread to his liver. Swayze told Barbara Walters in January 2009 that he wanted the media to report that he was "kicking it".
When Barbara Walters asked him if he was using any holistic or alternative methods of treatment besides the chemotherapy, Swayze admitted to using some Chinese herbs, but not much. He then voiced his opposition to the unsupported claims made by proponents of alternative therapies, as noted by ABC News journalist Joseph Brownstein:
Because of the grim prognosis, many patients turn to alternative therapies without scientific evidence behind them. Swayze did not.
"That's one thing I'm not gonna do, is chase, is chase staying alive. I'm not, you know, you'll spend so much time chasing staying alive you won't live, you know? I wanna live. If anybody had that cure out there like so many people swear to me they do, you'd be two things: you'd be very rich, and you'd be very famous. Otherwise, shut up," he told Barbara Walters in an interview that aired in January [2009].
His last role was the lead in an A&E TV series, The Beast, which premiered on January 15, 2009. Owing to a prolonged decline in health, Swayze was unable to promote the series, and on June 15, 2009, Entertainment Tonight reported that the show had been cancelled. In an interview with Barbara Walters which aired in January 2009, Swayze admitted that he had a "tiny little mass" in his liver. On January 9, 2009, Swayze was hospitalized with pneumonia. The pneumonia was said to be a complication of chemotherapy treatments for Swayze's cancer. On January 16, he was released from the hospital to rest at home with his wife. On April 19, 2009, doctors informed Swayze that the cancer had again metastasized to his liver. Swayze stated that his chain smoking probably "had something to do with" the development of his disease. Photos taken of a gaunt Swayze in the months before his death showed him continuing to smoke.
Swayze died with family at his side on September 14, 2009, at age 57, 20 months after being diagnosed. Swayze's publicist, Annett Wolf, confirmed to CNN that he had died of pancreatic cancer. He was cremated and his ashes scattered over his New Mexico ranch. He is survived by his wife Lisa Niemi, along with his mother, both brothers and one sister.

And now some news of his death
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Patrick Swayze, whose good looks and sympathetic performances in films such as "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost" made him a romantic idol to millions, died Monday. He was 57.
Patrick Swayze's doctor said in March 2008 that Swayze was suffering from pancreatic cancer.
Swayze died of pancreatic cancer, his publicist, Annett Wolf, told CNN.
Swayze's doctor, Dr. George Fisher, revealed in early March 2008 that Swayze was suffering from the disease.
"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months," Wolf said in a statement Monday. Most recently, Swayze starred in A&E Network's "The Beast," which debuted in January. He agreed to take the starring role of an undercover FBI agent before his diagnosis. The network agreed to shoot an entire season of the show after Swayze responded well to his cancer treatment. iReport.com: Send us your memories of Swayze In an interview with ABC's Barbara Walters in January, Swayze said his work on that show was exhausting, requiring 12-hour workdays in Chicago, Illinois, doing his own stunts. But he said the show's character "just felt right for my soul."

"If I leave this Earth, I want to leave this Earth just knowing I've tried to give something back and tried to do something worthwhile with myself," Swayze told Walters, when asked why he decided to do the show. "And that keeps me going, that gets me up in the morning. My work ... is my legacy."
Swayze was mostly known for a handful of supporting roles when he broke through with his performance as dance instructor Johnny Castle in 1987's "Dirty Dancing."
Three years later, he became an even bigger star with "Ghost," in which he played an investment banker who dies and learns to tap into his unspoken feelings for his partner (Demi Moore). The film won Whoopi Goldberg an Oscar and helped make him People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 1991.
"Patrick was a really good man, a funny man and one to whom I owe much that I can't ever repay," Goldberg said in a statement. "I believe in 'Ghost's' message, so he'll always be near."
Swayze told Entertainment Weekly in 1990 that "the movies that have had the most powerful effects on my life have been about romantic characters."
He expanded on the effort he put into love scenes for People in 1991.
"It's possibly the scariest thing I do," he said, "doing something so personal and giving people out there the opportunity to see if you're a good kisser or not."
Patrick Wayne Swayze was born on August 18, 1952, in Houston, Texas. His father was an engineering draftsman; his mother was a ballet dancer and later the director of the Houston Ballet Dance Company.
She led her son into the dancing world, which wasn't always easy for a Texas male. Indeed, the young Swayze played football, practiced martial arts and was an accomplished diver and track star while growing up, though he was good enough at dance to earn a college scholarship.
After an early professional job playing Prince Charming in an early '70s version of "Disney on Ice," Swayze returned to Houston, where he met Lisa Niemi, a student of his mother's. The two were married in 1975 and moved to New York to pursue their careers.
Swayze seemed set on a dance career: He studied with the prestigious Joffrey Ballet and joined another company, the Eliot Feld Ballet Company. But surgery for an old football injury ended his ballet career and he turned to acting, nabbing the lead role of Danny Zuko in the long-running Broadway production of "Grease" in 1978, around the time the movie starring John Travolta was hitting theaters. "Grease" earned him some Hollywood attention, and he and Niemi moved West.
After a couple of bit parts, including one in a 1981 episode of "M*A*S*H," Swayze picked up the role of Darrel Curtis in Francis Ford Coppola's 1983 film of "The Outsiders," which also included future stars Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, Ralph Macchio, Emilio Estevez and Tom Cruise. Swayze was also one of the leads in 1984's "Red Dawn," about teenagers defending their town from a Soviet attack on America.
But it was with "Dirty Dancing" that Swayze hit it big. The film about a girl's coming of age at a Catskills resort in the early '60s was intended for a limited release but became one of the decade's biggest sleeper hits and made Swayze and co-star Jennifer Grey household names.
The film gave birth to a catchphrase -- "Nobody puts Baby in a corner," spoken by Swayze's character to Grey's domineering father (Jerry Orbach) -- and eventually led to a follow-up, 2004's "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights." Swayze even sang a Top 10 hit, "She's Like the Wind," on the film's soundtrack.
Swayze, known as a down-to-earth, nice-guy actor, was determined not to follow a predictable career path.
He followed "Dirty Dancing" with "Road House" (1989) in which he played a manager at a rough-and-tumble bar (the film was particularly popular on late-night cable). He succeeded "Ghost" with "Point Break" (1991), about a group of thieves; "City of Joy" (1992), in which he played a doctor in a poverty-stricken Indian village; and "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar" (1995), in which he starred as a drag queen.
''I don't want to be Mr. Romantic Leading Man. I don't want to be the Dance Dude. I don't want to be the Action Guy. If I had to do any one of those all my life, it'd drive me crazy,'' he told Entertainment Weekly in the 1990 interview.
Swayze's career diminished in the late '90s. He broke both legs in 1997 while making a film, "Letters From a Killer," and went into rehab to overcome an admitted drinking problem. In 2000, he was flying in his own twin-engine plane when the plane depressurized; Swayze landed in a housing development in Arizona. Though some witnesses say he appeared intoxicated, he was later revealed to have been suffering from hypoxia, related to the depressurization and his three-pack-a-day cigarette habit.
Swayze re-established his knack for picking sleepers with "Donnie Darko" (2001), the dark film about a troubled student that became a sensation on video. Swayze played a creepy motivational speaker and won raves for his performance.
Swayze's more recent films included a TV version of "King Solomon's Mines" and 2007's "Christmas in Wonderland."
Though he still had the power to make women's hearts flutter -- 22-year-old Scarlett Johansson, upon receiving Harvard's Hasty Pudding Award in February 2007, said her dream date was "probably Patrick Swayze, my dream come true" -- Swayze wasn't too impressed with himself.
He did some amazing movies. "Donnie Darko" is one of my favorite movies ever. "Point Break", "Dirty Dancing" and "Road House" are also on my top Patrick Swayze favorite movies.

KTLA: Patrick Swayze dies after battle with cancer

U2, 2009-08-15 - Wembley Stadium, London
I was in London to see 2 amazing shows by U2 (Friday and Saturday).
First part of U2 by "The Hours" and "Glasvegas".
Took some photos and videos.
First part was by The Hours. They played for 31 minutes.
A video of The Hours (1):

And the video:
Second part was by Glasvegas. They played for 43 minutes.
Finally was time for U2. They played for 141 minutes.
Loved this second show. Stayed on the first balcony and I shot the complete show in video. U2 sang 3 of my favorite songs (that they didn't play on the first show).
During the day I already had listen to the soundcheck of one of those songs (New Years Day).
U2 played 2 of my favorite songs ever: "Bad" and "New Years Day". They also played "Stay (Faraway so Close)", other of my favorite songs.
"Today, U2 played their second of two concerts in London. The soundcheck featured two songs that have traditionally been paired together in U2's setlists, Until The End Of The World and New Year's Day. At some point on all four of the last tours, the former has come to immediately precede the latter in U2's setlists; it was rare on Vertigo, but on ZooTV, Popmart, and Elevation, it was a segue played often. Tonight, the pairing made its first 360° Tour setlist appearance, showing up early in the main set.
Bad was played for the fourth time on this tour, while Stay showed up for its fifth tour performance. It looks like the movement of Desmond Tutu's speech to precede One rather than Streets has become a permanent change. Interestingly, Bono snippeted a line of A Day Without Me during the middle of The Unforgettable Fire; this is our first recorded snippet of the song, and its first recorded live appearance of any kind in our database since 18 April 1985. Although I Will Follow has been soundchecked before a couple of shows recently, this is the first appearance of any kind for a song from Boy during an actual 360° Tour concert.

"Second and last show in London’s Wembley stadium tonight. Newspapers reviewed the first show as “a qualified triumph for vaulting ambition“, “with a sound so hissy that it might as well have been coming from a clapped-out transistor radio”.
Support acts of tonight are The Hours and Glasvegas and during a last minute soundcheck the band played New Year’s Day and Until The End Of The World.
Among tonights attending celebrities are Kevin Spacey (in the royal box), Lars Ulrich, Jimmy Page, Robert Downey Jnr and (the inevitable) Neil McCormick.
Reports are the roof is opened further than previous night, which benefits the sound.
When the last notes of tonights show fade out U2 will have played before an estimated 1.600.000 people in 21 gigs, with three more European shows to go…
The setlist gets a bit of a mix-up with the inclusion of UTEOTW, New Year’s Day and Stay:
Before they play Stay Bono tells the crowd Joe O’Herlihy has buried one of Edge’s guitar picks in the foundation of Wembley stadium when he was visiting the building site…
Big thanks to the Editor-in-chief of U2log and her fabulous live feeds!"

Here it goes a review of a fan who was also on both shows at Wembley Stadium. I like the review.
"U2 360 at Wembley Stadium
I experienced something recently I will probably never experience again in my life. A production of such magnitude, such enormous scale, that it would be near impossible for any band, other than U2, to pull off.
It was a last minute decision to go – I didn't care much for their latest effort No Light on The Horizon – but when cheap tickets were offered I chose to grab them, purely because I anticipated a spectacle. I'd seen U2 play on their Vertigo tour back in 2006 in Auckland, New Zealand; it was amazing. I'd heard they were taking their new show to a new level... and they weren't kidding!
We took our seats high above center field at Wembley Stadium, London; the stage below us was truly a masterpiece of engineering. 'The Claw', a four-legged structure that covering the lozenge-shaped center stage and outer ring catwalk. A 360˚ expandable video screen hung from the center of The Claw displaying the tiny figures of Bono, The Edge, Larry and Adam jaunting about on the vast stage area.
The video and lighting were impeccably designed and timed; from runway lights to one of the largest mirror balls you're ever likely to see. At my distance the band themselves felt a little underwhelming – not helped by my feeling their most recent album was fairly pedestrian – I had difficulty connecting at times throughout the concert. But, thankfully, they were gracious enough to play many of their mega-hit songs and that successfully got everyone standing up from their seats.
The feeling of 88,000 people singing Where The Streets Have No Name is not one that will leave me soon.
Sunday Bloody Sunday was hauntingly relevant as images of recent turmoil in the Iranian elections was projected and the entire stage was flooded in green light. Bono also drew attention to Burmese political leader Aung San Suu Kyi who has lived under house arrest for much of the last twenty years. U2’s most iconic songs transcend age, race and historical events; paying testament to their ability to capture the essence of what it means to live in this world and why they've stayed on top of the music world for almost thirty years.
The pure enormity of this epic show and the chance you’ll never see anything on this scale again (well, until their next tour I suppose) prompts me to suggest you go and see this concert when it comes near your town... even if you agree with me in generally panning No Light on the Horizon.

U2, 2009-08-14 - Wembley Stadium, London
I was in London to see 2 amazing shows by U2 (Friday and Saturday).
First part of U2 by "The Hours" and "Elbow".
Took some photos and videos.
"U2's first UK gig in their current tour has broken the attendance record for a Wembley Stadium concert, organizers have said.
About 88,000 people arrived at the Irish group's concert on Friday - 5,000 more than what is thought to have been the stadium's previous record.
The extra capacity for U2 was made possible by a 64ft-high stage, the tallest in the world, called The Claw.
U2's radical "claw" stage has enabled tour organizers Live Nation to increase the capacity for the sold-out show.
The four-legged, crab-like construction ensured that there was more room for fans.
Frontman Bono said: 'The Claw means more people can fit into the shows and everyone will be closer to the action.'
Show director Willie Williams, who developed the solid steel contraption, added: 'It's a really amazing spectacle - when you are on stage all you can see is people.'
Wembley's previous biggest crowd is believed to have been the 83,000 who saw Rod Stewart perform there in 1995.
That figure was matched last summer by the Foo Fighters when the US band played at Wembley following its rebuilding.
Elbow, who won the Mercury Prize last year with their fourth studio album The Seldom Seen Kid, were supporting on Friday."

And the video:
First part was by The Hours. They played for 32 minutes.
Second part was by Elbow. They played for 41 minutes.
Finally was time for U2. They played for 129 minutes.
On this first show I stayed just in the middle of Edge and Bono on a second row. The stage was a little high but I saw it very well. The concert was excelent.
"Today, U2 played their first of two concerts in London - the last city of the European leg to receive two concerts. Before the show began, the band did a soundcheck that featured Mysterious Ways and Your Blue Room. The latter has never been played live before.
During the actual gig, U2 seemed to be playing it very safe setlist-wise with the tabloid media's reviewers presumably attending in droves, though Stuck In A Moment was victim to some errors. Then the band threw in a considerable surprise: at the end of the main set, Mysterious Ways (featuring an extremely brief Norwegian Wood snippet at its end) followed One. Although Mysterious Ways has often been second-last in both main sets and encores, this is the first time it has ever actually been a main set closer. This tour, when One has been played after Streets (i.e. all but four shows), it has typically been the main set closer - the only previous exception was when Bad followed it in Dublin on 27 July 2009.
As a matter of interest, the Desmond Tutu intro was again before One rather than Streets. On the statistical front, tonight's performance of I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For was its 500th live appearance, while Streets was played for the 666th time.

John Hughes, DEAD (1950-02-18, 2009-08-06)
John Hughes, one of my favorite directors of the 80s has died with 59 years old.
John Hughes was a director who had a big mark in me in the 80s mainly because of the amazing movie "THE BREAKFAST CLUB". This is my all time favorite movie EVER. Saw it more than 20 times. An amazing generation of young actors like Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy. Also with Paul Gleason and John Kapelos. The amazing music of Simple Minds "Don't You Forget About Me" is the main song of the movie. And the famous David Bowie lyric of "Changes" in the beginning.
"The Breakfast Club is a 1985 teen film widely considered a definitive work in the genre. Written and directed by John Hughes, The Breakfast Club storyline follows five teenagers (each representing a different clique in high school) as they spend a Saturday in detention together and come to realize that they are all deeper than their respective stereotypes."

Lines from the song's "Changes" second verse were used in the opening of the 1985 film "The Breakfast Club":

As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're going through...
Thanks to John Hughes on Wikipedia
John Wilden Hughes, Jr. (February 18, 1950 – August 6, 2009) was an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He directed and/or scripted some of the most successful films of the 1980s and 1990s, including National Lampoon's Vacation, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, Some Kind of Wonderful, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Beethoven, Uncle Buck, Career Opportunities, 101 Dalmatians, Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and Home Alone 3.
In bold are my favorite John Hughes movies.
He is known as the king of teen movies as well as helping launch the careers of actors including Michael Keaton, Bill Paxton, Matthew Broderick, John Candy, & The Brat Pack.
Early life
Hughes was born in Lansing, Michigan, to a mother who volunteered in charity work and John Hughes, Sr., who worked in sales. He spent the first twelve years of his life in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Hughes described himself as "kind of quiet" as a kid.
"I grew up in a neighborhood that was mostly girls and old people. There weren't any boys my age, so I spent a lot of time by myself, imagining things. And every time we would get established somewhere, we would move. Life just started to get good in seventh grade, and then we moved to Chicago. I ended up in a really big high school, and I didn't know anybody. But then The Beatles came along (and) changed my whole life. And then Bob Dylan's Bringing It All Back Home came out and really changed me. Thursday I was one person, and Friday I was another. My heroes were Dylan, John Lennon and Picasso, because they each moved their particular medium forward, and when they got to the point where they were comfortable, they always moved on."
In 1963, Hughes's family moved to Northbrook, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, where Hughes’s father found work selling roofing materials. It was there that Hughes attended Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois, the school that would provide inspiration for the films that would make his reputation in later years.
Death
Hughes died of a heart attack on August 6, 2009 while walking in Manhattan where he was visiting his family. On that morning, Hughes was on West 55th Street in Manhattan when he was struck with chest pains. At 8:55 a.m., 9-1-1 operators summoned paramedics to assist. Hughes was unconscious when they arrived several minutes later. Hughes was raced to Roosevelt Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. He was 59 years old. Hughes's funeral took place on August 11 in Chicago. In addition to his wife and two sons, Hughes is survived by four grandchildren.
The pilot episode of the NBC comedy Community, broadcast on September 17, 2009, was dedicated to Hughes. The episode included several references to The Breakfast Club and ended with a cover of "Don't You (Forget About Me)". The One Tree Hill episode titled "Don't You Forget About Me", broadcast on February 1, 2010, ended with a scene similar to the ending scene of Sixteen Candles and included some other references to his movies such as Home Alone.
After Hughes' death, many of those who knew him, commented on the impact Hughes had on them, and on the film industry. Judd Apatow said "Basically, my stuff is just John Hughes films with four-letter words. I feel like a part of my childhood has died. Nobody made me laugh harder or more often than John Hughes." Molly Ringwald said, "I was stunned and incredibly sad to hear about the death of John Hughes. He was and will always be such an important part of my life.... He will be missed – by me and by everyone that he has touched. My heart and all my thoughts are with his family now." Matthew Broderick also released his own statement, saying, "I am truly shocked and saddened by the news about my old friend John Hughes. He was a wonderful, very talented guy and my heart goes out to his family."
Oscar tribute
The 82nd Academy Awards included a tribute to Hughes' work. A retrospective of clips from Hughes' films was followed by cast members from several of them, including Molly Ringwald, Matthew Broderick, Macaulay Culkin, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Anthony Michael Hall and Jon Cryer, gathering on stage to commemorate the man and his contributions to the film industry.

Madonna, 2009-07-05 - O2 Arena, London
I was in London to see 2 amazing shows by Madonna (Saturday and Sunday) it's the "Sticky & Sweet Tour".
Bought VIP packages on both concerts. Was really cool and worth it.
Both concerts started a little late. Second show was with a 30 minutes delay.
On the second day the VIPs had a different day from the first day and better. Instead of the restaurant we were on a bar, restaurant of the Backstage. Was on the third floor of the O2 Arena behind the stage, went there by elevator. On this bar we saw the stage and the complete arena on top of the main screen of the stage. Was really cool having dinner and watching all the fans getting in inside the O2 Arena. Saw DJ Paul Oakenfield from up there behind the stage (he did the first part). Didn't care about his music up there. 15 minutes before the time to Madonna show someone warned us to go to our places on the first balcony. It was the time I got out of there and went to my sit.
On this second show my camera got in. Made 3 videos and more than 300 photos. I also took one photo with 2 dancers of Madonna before the show at the backstage bar. 2 of the best and funnier dancers of Madonna for sure. Talk to both of them a little and they were very friendly.
Finally was time for Madonna. She played for 113 minutes.
Here it is the setlist:
PIMP:
1. CANDY SHOP
2. BEAT GOES ON
3. HUMAN NATURE
4. VOGUE
OLD SCHOOL:
5. INTO THE GROOVE (WITH "Die Another Day" BEFORE)
6. HEARTBEAT
7. HOLYDAY (WITH THE TRIBUTE TO "Michael Jackson" AT THE MIDDLE)
8. DRESS YOU UP
9. SHE'S NOT ME
10. MUSIC
GYPSY:
11. DEVIL WOULDN'T RECOGNISE YOU
12. SPANISH LESSON
13. MILES AWAY
14. LA ISLA BONITA
15. YOU MUST LOVE ME
RAVE:
16. 4 MINUTES
17. LIKE A PRAYER
18. FROZEN (WITH "Open Your Heart" AND "Ray Of Light" AT THE MIDDLE)
19. RAY OF LIGHT

Katy Perry, 2009-06-28 - Campo Pequeno, Lisbon
I went to Campo Pequeno in Lisbon to see Katy Perry live for the first time (Sunday). A day with a lot of rain.
First part of Katy Perry was by "Gomo" (portuguese singer).
Took some photos of Gomo and photos and videos of Katy Perry.
First part was by Gomo. He played for 30 minutes.
I love his show. I didn't know him before this show. A portuguese singer who sings in english. He was amazing. A lot of energy on stage. I even bought his CD. And love it.
Finally was time for Katy Perry. She played for 80 minutes.
It was a very good show.
At the end of the show Katy Perry @katyperry twitted this: "Wow! Crazy. In portugal, just played a Hello Katy show to 6 thousand screaming, singing, crying, FREAKING out fans. I felt IT for the 1st x."
On "Hot 'N Cold" Katy said she had a part from Portugal on herself and she invited a guy to go on the stage with her, he jumped to the song and she sung.
During the show she said she was shocked and didn't expect so many people to go
to her show.
On the last song "I KISSED A GIRL" Katy Perry jumped out of the stage and jump to right in front of me for the second time. This time with a security holding her, she just stand on top of us the fans and kissed a girl on 3rd or 4th row. It was awesome. And I even touch a little of her right leg. Crazy.

Michael Jackson, DEAD (1958-08-29, 2009-06-25)
Saw him live once and it was one of the best live shows I ever seen. In the old Estádio José de Alvalade on September 26, 1992. Amazing 130 minutes of live MJ.
Here it is my favourite song and video of the amazing MJ
Michael Jackson - Man In The Mirror (Original Clip)

And the video:
Thanks to Michael Jackson on Wikipedia
Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American recording artist, entertainer, and businessman. Often referred to as the King of Pop, or by his initials MJ, Jackson is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records. His contribution to music, dance, and fashion, along with a much-publicized personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture for over four decades. The seventh child of the Jackson family, he debuted on the professional music scene along with his brothers as a member of The Jackson 5 in 1964, and began his solo career in 1971.
In the early 1980s, Jackson became a dominant figure in popular music. The music videos for his songs, including those of "Beat It", "Billie Jean", and "Thriller", were credited with transforming the medium into an art form and a promotional tool, and the popularity of these videos helped to bring the relatively new television channel MTV to fame. With videos such as "Black or White" and "Scream" he continued to be highly visible on MTV in the 1990s, and also began to forge a reputation as a touring artist. Through stage performances and music videos, Jackson popularized a number of complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk, to which he gave the name. His distinctive musical sound and vocal style influenced numerous hip hop, post-disco, contemporary R&B, pop and rock artists.
Jackson's 1982 album Thriller is the best-selling album of all time. His other records, including Off the Wall (1979), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991), and HIStory (1995), also rank among the world's best-selling. Jackson is one of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. He was also inducted into the Dance Hall of Fame as the first (and currently only) dancer from the world of pop and rock 'n' roll. Some of his other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records; 13 Grammy Awards (as well as the Grammy Legend Award and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award); 26 American Music Awards (more than any other artist, including the "Artist of the Century" and "Artist of the '80s"); 13 number-one singles in the United States in his solo career (more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era); and the estimated sale of over 750 million records worldwide. Jackson won hundreds of awards, which made him the most-awarded recording artist in the history of popular music. He was also one of the world's most prominent humanitarians and philanthropists; personally, and through his Heal the World Foundation, he donated more than $300 million in charity, and holds the Guinness World Record for having supported the most charities out of any pop star.
Aspects of Jackson's personal life, including his changing appearance, personal relationships, and behavior, generated controversy. In 1993, he was accused of child sexual abuse, but the case was settled out of court and no formal charges were brought. In 2005, he was tried and acquitted of further child sexual abuse allegations and several other charges after the jury found him not guilty on all counts. While preparing for his concert series titled This Is It, Jackson died of acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication on June 25, 2009, after suffering from cardiac arrest. The Los Angeles County Coroner ruled his death a homicide, and his personal physician was convicted of involuntary manslaughter. Jackson's death triggered a global outpouring of grief, and as many as one billion people around the world reportedly watched his public memorial service on live television. In March 2010, Sony Music Entertainment signed the largest music contract with Jackson's estate of $250 million deal to retain distribution rights to his recordings until 2017, and to release seven posthumous albums over the decade following his death.
Death and memorial
On June 25, 2009, Jackson died while in his bed at his rented mansion at 100 North Carolwood Drive in the Holmby Hills district of Los Angeles. Attempts at resuscitating him by Conrad Murray, his personal physician, were unsuccessful. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics received a 911 call at 12:22 (PDT, 19:22 UTC), arriving three minutes later at Jackson's location. He was reportedly not breathing and CPR was performed. Resuscitation efforts continued en route to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, and for more than an hour after arriving there at 1:13 (20:13 UTC). He was pronounced dead at 2:26 local time (21:26 UTC). Jackson's death triggered a global outpouring of grief.
The news spread quickly online, causing websites to slow down and crash from user overload. Both TMZ and the Los Angeles Times suffered outages. Google initially believed that the input from millions of people searching for "Michael Jackson" meant that the search engine was under DDoS attack, and blocked searches related to Michael Jackson for 30 minutes. Twitter reported a crash, as did Wikipedia at 3:15 p.m. PDT (22:15 UTC). The Wikimedia Foundation reported nearly a million visitors to Jackson's biography within one hour, probably the most visitors in a one-hour period to any article in Wikipedia's history. AOL Instant Messenger collapsed for 40 minutes. AOL called it a "seminal moment in Internet history", adding, "We've never seen anything like it in terms of scope or depth."
Around 15% of Twitter posts—or 5,000 tweets per minute—reportedly mentioned Jackson after the news broke, compared to the 5% recalled as having mentioned the Iranian elections or the flu pandemic that had made headlines earlier in the year. Overall, web traffic ranged from 11% to at least 20% higher than normal. MTV and Black Entertainment Television (BET) aired marathons of Jackson's music videos. Jackson specials aired on multiple television stations around the world. The British soap opera EastEnders added a last-minute scene, in which one character tells another about the news, to the June 26 episode. Jackson was the topic of every front-page headline in the daily British tabloid The Sun for about two weeks following his death. During the same period, the three major U.S. networks' evening newscasts—ABC World News, CBS Evening News, and NBC Nightly News—devoted 34% of their broadcast time to him. Magazines including Time published commemorative editions. A scene that had featured Jackson's sister La Toya was cut from the film Brüno out of respect toward Jackson's family.
Jackson's memorial was held on July 7, 2009, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, preceded by a private family service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park's Hall of Liberty. Jackson's casket was present during the memorial but no information was released about the final disposition of the body. According to news sources around the world, the event exceeded 2.5 to 3 billion viewers, making it the most watched live television broadcast of the history of humanity worldwide, surpassing the level of viewing in the television broadcast of the any other funeral or event. The memorial service was one of the most watched events in online streaming history. The U.S. audience was estimated by Nielsen to be 31.1 million, an amount comparable to the estimated 35.1 million that watched the 2004 burial of former president Ronald Reagan, and the estimated 33.1 million Americans who watched the 1997 funeral for Princess Diana.
Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, John Mayer, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Jermaine Jackson, and Shaheen Jafargholi performed at the event. Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson gave eulogies, while Queen Latifah read "We had him", a poem written for the occasion by Maya Angelou. The Reverend Al Sharpton received a standing ovation with cheers when he told Jackson's children, "Wasn't nothing strange about your daddy. It was strange what your daddy had to deal with. But he dealt with it anyway." Jackson's 11-year-old daughter, Paris Katherine, cried as she told the crowd, "Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine ... I just wanted to say I love him ... so much." Reverend Lucious Smith provided a closing prayer. On August 24, several news outlets quoted anonymous sources as stating that the Los Angeles coroner had decided to treat Jackson's death as a homicide; this was later confirmed by the coroner on August 28. At the time of death, Jackson had been administered propofol, lorazepam and midazolam. Law enforcement officials conducted a manslaughter investigation of his personal physician, Conrad Murray. On February 8, 2010, Murray was charged with involuntary manslaughter by prosecutors in Los Angeles. Jackson was entombed on September 3, 2009, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
On June 25, 2010, the first anniversary of Jackson's death, fans traveled to Los Angeles to pay their tribute to him. They visited Jackson’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and his family’s home, as well as Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Many of the fans were carrying sunflowers and other tribute items to drop off at the sites. Members of the Jackson family and close friends arrived to pay their respects. Katherine returned to Gary, Indiana to unveil a granite monument constructed in the front yard of the family home. The memorial continued with a candlelight vigil and a special performance of "We Are the World". On June 26, there was a protest march in front of the Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Division at the old Parker Center building and a petition with thousands of signatures demanding justice was delivered. The Jackson Family Foundation in conjunction with Voiceplate presented "Forever Michael", an event bringing together Jackson family members, celebrities, fans, supporters and the community to celebrate and honor his legacy. A portion of the proceeds were presented to some of Jackson's favorite charities. Katherine also introduced her new book "Never Can Say Goodbye".
Death aftermath
After his death, Jackson became the best-selling albums artist of 2009. In the United States selling over 8.2 million albums and a total of 35 million albums worldwide in the 12 months that followed his death. Jackson became the first artist to sell one million downloads in a week in download history, with a record-breaking 2.6 million downloads of his songs. After his death three of his albums sold more than any new album which was the first time a catalog album has ever scanned more sales than any new album. Jackson also became the first artist in history to have four of the top 20 best selling albums in a single year in the United States. Following this surge in sales, Sony announced that they had extended their relationship with his material. The distribution rights held by Sony Music were due to expire in 2015. On March 16, 2010, Sony Music Entertainment, in a move spearheaded by its Columbia/Epic Label Group division, signed a new deal with the Jackson estate to extend their distribution rights to his back catalogue until at least 2017, as well as to obtain permission to release ten new albums with previously unreleased material and new collections of released work. On November 4, 2010 Sony announced the release of Michael, the first posthumous album set to be released on December 14, with the promotional single released to the radios on November 8, titled "Breaking News". The deal was unprecedented in the music industry as it is the most expensive music contract pertaining to a single artist in history; it reportedly involved Sony Music paying $250 million for the deal, with the Jackson estate getting the full sum as well as its share of royalties for all works released. Video game developer Ubisoft announced it would release a new dancing-and-singing game featuring Michael Jackson for the 2010 holiday season. The game titled Michael Jackson: The Experience will be among the first to use Kinect and PlayStation Move, the respective motion-detecting camera systems for Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3 due out later that year.
Michael Jackson was reported to be one of the largest owners of property on the moon. In 2005, he bought a 1,200 acre plot in the Lake of Dreams and owned a smaller parcel in the Sea of Vapours. After his death, a crater on the moon was renamed Michael Joseph Jackson by The Lunar Republic Society in Jackson's honor. The crater was previously named Posidonius J and is located on an area of the moon known as the Lake of Dreams, or Lacus Somniorum. The crater is 22 kilometers across and is situated near Jackson's owned land. A spokesman for the society said: "The official designation of a Lunar crater is a singular honour bestowed upon only a select few luminaries. "Among those receiving this rare tribute over the past century are Leonardo da Vinci, Christopher Columbus, Sir Isaac Newton, Julius Caesar and Jules Verne."
On November 3, 2010, the theatrical performing company Cirque du Soleil announced that it would launch "Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour" in October 2011 in Montreal, while a permanent show will reside in Las Vegas. The 90-minute US$57M production will combine Jackson's iconic musical oeuvre and choreography with the Cirque's signature artistry, dance and aerial displays involving 65 artists. The tour was written and directed by Jamie King and centers on Jackson's "inspirational Giving Tree – the wellspring of creativity where his love of music and dance, fairy tale and magic, and the fragile beauty of nature are unlocked." On October 3, 2011, the accompanying compilation soundtrack album Immortal was announced to have over 40 Jackson’s original recordings re-produced by Kevin Antunes.
In April 2011, Jackson's longtime friend and billionaire businessman Mohamed Al-Fayed, chairman of Fulham F.C., unveiled a statue of Jackson outside the club's stadium, Craven Cottage. Fulham fans were however bemused by the statue and failed to understand the relevance of Jackson to the club. Al Fayed however defended the statue and told the fans to 'go to hell' if they didn't appreciate the statue.
Honors and awards
Michael Jackson was inducted onto the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1980 as member of The Jacksons and in 1984 as solo artist. Throughout his career he received numerous honors and awards, including the World Music Awards' Best-Selling Pop Male Artist of the Millennium, the American Music Award's Artist of the Century Award and the Bambi Pop Artist of the Millennium Award. He was a double-inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, once as a member of The Jackson 5 in 1997 and later as a solo artist in 2001. Jackson was also inducted in several other hall of fames, including Vocal Group Hall of Fame (as The Jackson 5 member) in 1999, Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002 and Hit Parade Hall of Fame (with his brothers) in 2009. In 2010, Jackson was inducted into the Dance Hall of Fame as the first (and currently only) dancer from the world of pop and rock 'n' roll. His awards include many Guinness World Records (eight in 2006 alone), 13 Grammy Awards (as well as the Grammy Legend Award and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award), 26 American Music Awards (including the "Artist of the Century" and "Artist of the '80s")—more than any artist—, 13 number one singles in the US in his solo career—more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era—and estimated sales of up to 750 million records worldwide, making him the world's best selling male solo pop artist. On December 29, 2009, the American Film Institute recognized Jackson's death as a "moment of significance" saying, "Michael Jackson's sudden death in June at age 50 was notable for the worldwide outpouring of grief and the unprecedented global eulogy of his posthumous concert rehearsal movie This Is It." Michael Jackson also received a Doctor of Humane Letters Degree from the United Negro College Fund and also an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Fisk University.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
