Bon Jovi, 2008-06-14 - Belgium, Brussels

And after Punchestown it's Brussels time.

Sat, Jun 14, 2008 in Bruxelles, Belgium @ King Baudouin Stadium (Stade Roi Baudouin)

Let me just say before anything else that this was my favourite show of all 8 I saw this tour.

It was time to have a number of the Backstage and to wait. I wait the rest of the day.

Day of show, the 14th of June.

Time to get the tickets.

After the show I went to an "After Party" in a local bar in Brussels by metro and then by foot.
It was presented by "Forever Bon Jovi and Rock Classic".
Free entrance.
With a free drink and I could win a maxi CD of "Whole Lot Of Leavin'", but I didn't won. I receive also 2 different posters of Bon Jovi in Brussels in dutch and in french. I brought many posters.
They show some Bon Jovi concerts on a giant screen. It was awsome. Many friends of mine were also there.

After the party when the bar closed almost at the end of the night I caught a taxi to the airport. Time to go home.

The plain from Brussels was at 12:20 (15th of June). One stop in Barajas Airport, Madrid at 14:35. From Barajas, Madrid at 15:50 to Lisbon at 16:05 (minus 1 hour than Madrid).

I hope you like the videos.

Next I will write the post of Glasgow on the 21st of June in Hampden Park Stadium. I was there.

Bon Jovi, 2008-06-07 - Ireland, Punchestown

And after Vienna it's Dublin time.

Sat, Jun 07, 2008 in Punchestown, Ireland @ Punchestown Racecourse

I went on a plane on the day before, the 6th of June at 10:35 am in Aer Lingus. I arrive on Dublin Airport at 13:20.
On Lisbon airport I did my first mistake. I change 200 Euros to Pounds. In dublin Airport I found out that hey use Euros so I have to change the Pounds back to Euros. Of course with this I lost 40 euros.
In Dublin Airport I got a bus to the centre of Dublin. I went looking for buses to Punchestown and I did not found any. So I got a taxi, I payed 90 Euros I think. The cab driver was really nice and took me to Punchestouwn Racecourse. I think I arrive there about 18:00. The weather was not good but it didn't rain.

It was time to have a number of the Backstage club and to wait. I wait the rest of the day.

Day of show, the 7th of June.

Time to get the tickets.

Another portuguese friend was there with me, my friend Ana Melro.

We had 3 bands before the main event.

The first band playing was DC Tempest. They played for 22 minutes. They were good. I like their sound.

Kid Rock was the 2nd singer playing. He played for 67 minutes. I loved him. He was awsome.

Here it is the official video of Kid Rock called: All Summer Long.

Razorlight was the 3rd band playing. They played for 54 minutes. I don't like them. The sound was very boring.

Finally was time for Bon Jovi. They appeard at 8h30 pm and played for 155 minutes.

What an amazing show it was. I will write here the setlist and then talk about the show:

LOST HIGHWAY
BORN TO BE MY BABY
YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME

JUST OLDER

Bon Jovi, 2008-06-04 - Austria, Vienna

And after Barcelona it's Vienna time.

Wed, Jun 04, 2008 in Vienna, Austria @ Magna Racino (Racino Platz, Ebreichsdorf)

I went on a plane on the day before, the 3rd of June at 01:30 am in Sky Europe. I arrive on Vienna Airport at 06:00 am.
At 06:39 I went on the OBB train from "Flugh.Wien Schwechat" (Vienna Airport) to "Wien Mitte" (Center of Vienna). I arrive there at 07:04 am. 3€40 the ticket.
From "Wien Mitte" at 07:17 am by metro to "Wien Meidling" another 1€70.
At 08:12 am I bought the ticket to the train to go from "Wien Meidling" to Ebreichsdorf. Another 3€40.
I caught the train at 9:18 am and arrived at Ebreichsdorf at 9:49 am.
From the Ebreichsdorf train station to the place of the concert I caught a taxi. I payed a fixed price of 5 or 7 or 10 Euros. I don't remember right now.

At 10:20 am I was already on the concert place:
- Magna Racino (Racino Platz, Ebreichsdorf).

It was time to have a number of the Backstage club and to wait. I wait all day. I slept on a friends car. It rained a lot on that night. Everyone was on the cars.

On the morning of Wednesday, the day of the show all the cars started to arrive and to go to a dirty camp on the right side of the concert place on the other side of a road.

Time to get the tickets:

Almost time to get in.

Finally we were inside.

Almost time the the first band:

We had 2 bands before the main event.

The first band playing was PBH Club. They played for 31 minutes.

Sunrise Avenue was the 2nd band playing. They played for 45 minutes. I really like them. The vocalist is crazy for Bon Jovi and even got a Superman tatoo.

Finally was time for Bon Jovi. They appeard before 9 pm and played for 126 minutes.

What a great show it was. Bon Jovi playing in the rain. I will write here the setlist and then talk about the show:

After the show I went with some friends to the car to try to get out of there and to go to the train station in Ebreichsdorf.
There was a big confusion on the car park and I took about 4 hours to get out of there and to get to the train station. It was crazy.

I caught the train from Ebreichsdorf to "Wien Meidling".
From "Wien Meidling" by metro to "Wien Mitte".
After 08:39 I went on the OBB train from "Wien Mitte" (Center of Vienna) to "Flugh.Wien Schwechat" (Vienna Airport).

I was so tired in Vienna with the rain that I went to the airport really early. I arrived to the airport more or less at 10:00 am. And stay there all day till I caught the plain at 21:30. And arrived in Lisbon at 23:55.
I only stay in Lisbon for a few hours because I had to catch another plain at 10:35 am (Friday, 6th of June) to Dublin (that story will be later in another post).

I hope you like the 4 videos.

Bon Jovi, 2008-06-01 - Spain, Barcelona

Let's continue with the story of the Barcelona show. I will write about the other Bon Jovi shows in other posts.

"Sun, Jun 01, 2008 in Barcelona, Spain @ Olympic Stadium (Estadi Olímpic)"

After Bon Jovi playing at the Rock In Rio in Lisbon I went home. To take a bath, eat something. I save the Lisbon photos on my PC and maybe rest a little.

I think I got up at 6 am to be in the airport at 8 am. I went to Barcelona. I arrive there at 12. Before I catch the plain in Lisbon I met a portuguese fan from the North with her father who were in Rock In Rio and also went to Barcelona to see Bon Jovi again, just like me. Well, it was a very enjoyable trip as you can imagine. Talking about Bon Jovi all the way. When we arrive to Barcelona the mother of the girl with an aunt went to pick us. So I have a ride to the Olimpic Stadium in Barcelona. The girl and I got separated on the queues because she had a VIP package and I only have the Backstage Golden circle ticket. The girl family went to the stands.

In the queues for the show I was with more portuguese friends like Rute, Tania, Gisela, Cristina and Raquel.

When we got in the stadium I went to the left side behind Rute, Cristina and Raquel.

We had 2 bands before the main event.

The first band playing was Savia. They played for 26 minutes.

No Way Out was the 2nd band playing. They played for 41 minutes.

Finally was time for Bon Jovi. They appeard close to 9 pm and played for 143 minutes.

Before Bon Jovi started the show Rute who was on my front went behind to make some videos. So I was front row again. On my left was Raquel and then Cristina.

What a great show it was. I will write here the setlist and then talk about the show:

I love the show. the 3rd time I saw Bon Jovi in Spain (twice in Barcelona and once in Madrid). The first was in Palu Sant Jordi in Barcelona in 2003/05/20, the 2nd in Estádio La Peineta in Madrid in 2003/05/22 (with "Pereza" before).

It was amazing to hear the songs "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead / Rockin' All Over The World", "Can't Help Fallin' In Love With You (Elvis Cover)" and "Hey God".

This time I was on the first row on the left side but a little far from the main stage so I have not many great photos. And this was the only show I did not make any videos.

After the show I leave the stadium with my friend Tania and we caught a bus to the center of Barcelona, to Plaza de España.
There was a crazy story when me and Tania triyed to leave the stadium. We went to several backstage stands to try to buy something and when we leave all the stadium doors were closed. You can't imagine Tania all crazy and me go all around inside the stadium to look for an open gate. Well, all closed. Then we found a guard who was with some keys and took us to a gate that he opened. Me and Tania got out with other crazy fans.
What a great adventure we had. Me and Tania went to the main plaza to try to first see if the metro or buses could take us to the airport. And nothing. We walk a little to a main road to try to catch a taxi and we could not find any.
So we decide to go back to Plaza de España and try other options. We found a hotel with a queue for taxis. Of course we went there and we stay more than 2 hours waiting for the queue to get shorter. Finally was our time, so the taxi took us to the airport finally.

Me and my friend Tania stayed in the airport for some hours to get the early plain to Lisbon. I didn't sleep a minute but my friend slept on the airport floor for some hours. I was looking for her, so no problems. Then I went to the plane alone and very early and my friend stay at the airport to get another plane a few hours later.

I hope you like the photos.

Next is Vienna on the 4th of June. I was there. My story of that show will be on the next post.

Bon Jovi, 2008-05-31 - Rock In Rio, Lisbon

The 31th of May was the day I start the "Lost Highway Tour" of Bon Jovi with 8 amazing shows.

It was an amazing tour. Where I went to Lisbon (Portugal), Barcelona (Spain), Vienna (Austria), Dublin (Ireland), Bruxelles (Belgium), Glasgow (UK) and the final 2 shows in London (UK). The Bruxelles was my favorite show of the 8 I saw. But in another post I will write about that one.

Below are the dates of the shows I went:
Sat, May 31, 2008 in Lisbon, Portugal @ Parque da Bela Vista (Rock In Rio)
Sun, Jun 01, 2008 in Barcelona, Spain @ Olympic Stadium (Estadi Olímpic)
Wed, Jun 04, 2008 in Vienna, Austria @ Magna Racino (Racino Platz, Ebreichsdorf)
Sat, Jun 07, 2008 in Punchestown, Ireland @ Punchestown Racecourse
Sat, Jun 14, 2008 in Bruxelles, Belgium @ King Baudouin Stadium (Stade Roi Baudouin)
Sat, Jun 21, 2008 in Glasgow, UK @ Hampden Park Stadium
Fri, Jun 27, 2008 in London, UK @ Twickenham Stadium
Sat, Jun 28, 2008 in London, UK @ Twickenham Stadium

With this 8 shows I saw I made it 20 in total.

Let's start with the story of the Lisbon show. I will write about the other shows in other posts.

"Sat, May 31, 2008 in Lisbon, Portugal @ Parque da Bela Vista (Rock In Rio)"

I arrived at Parque da Bela Vista at midnight of the day before.

I still heard on the outside of Rock In Rio Lenny Kravitz (he was playing on the day before).

Rock In Rio is a big festival. This was the third time it was in Lisbon. 2004 and 2006 were the first 2 editions. 2008 is the last edition in Portugal. This time Rock In Rio was also in Spain.

After 5 am my portuguese friends start to arrive. Till 4 am I saw many people leaving the Rock In Rio. I didn't sleep as you can imagine.

We start to queue. On the afternoon I was interviewed with some of my friends by a reporter of the offical Rock In Rio site.

And the video:

At 4 pm we finally got in. I run a lot. To enter the Rock In Rio we had to pass through various securities and to go up a road, about 150 meters. And then on the main entrance we had to stop. I was front row there after I burn myself on the race before. Very crazy people. Well we finaly got in and I went first row on the left side of the stage near the middle.

As you know in a festival we had many bands before the main event.

Skank was the first band playing. They are a brazilian band. I like them, very nice guys and with at least 2 songs I knew before. Not bad. They played for 63 minutes. They made a good show.

Alanis Morissette was the 2nd singer playing. It was my 2nd time I saw her live. The first was on the 29th of June 1999 in Pavilhão Atlântico (Lisbon) with Furslide (playing before).
This time she played for 60 minutes. I love her music, and I loved the new song. I didn't like her show in the stage. She was a little strange. This is only my opinion. I was a little amazed. But as I said before I loved the songs she played. I am a huge fan of her you can believe it. I have all of her CDs. And her songs are amazing. I love the lyrics.

Alejandro Sanz played after Alanis and before Bon Jovi. As you can imagine my day was very tired. I just wanted that Alejandro played faster and got out of the stage, hehe.
I didn't like his show. Very boring. It was cool when Ivete Sangalo appeard on stage to sing one song with Alejandro. Alejandro Sanz played for 71 minutes.

Finally was almost time of Bon Jovi. They appeard close to midnight and played for 120 minutes.

What an amazing show it was. I will write here the setlist and then talk about the show:

I love the show. the 4th time Bon Jovi played in Portugal. The first was in Pavilhão Dramático of Cascais in 1989, the 2nd in Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon in 1993 (with Billy Idol before) and the 3rd on Alvalade Stadium again in 1995 (with Crown of Thorns, Little Steven, Ugly kid Joe and Van Halen before).

The band here in Rock In Rio was really amazed by the 100.000 people (more or less a thousand) in the audience.

Jon was really amazing. On one of the songs he come down to the audience. Really awsome to see him on our side touching everybody (not me this time).
On the encore he was with a portuguese soccer shirt that a portuguese fan gave to him before the show. The shirt had Bon Jovi written behind with the number 31 below (the day of the show).

Here are some videos I made of Bon Jovi in Lisbon (hope you will love them):

After the show I leave the Rock In Rio to get ready to catch a plane to see Bon Jovi in Barcelona 7 hours later.

The show was live and direct on TV on SIC Mulher. Only the first song "Lost Highway" was not transmitted.

After the show the critics on newspapers, TV, sites were really amazing. I think finally Portugal will agreed that Bon Jovi are one of the best rock bands in the world.

I hope you like the videos.

Next post is from Bon Jovi in Barcelona on the day after Lisbon. I was there. My story of that show will be on the next post.
