A different Rock In Rio. A Celebration of the 15 years of Rock In Rio here in Portugal with a free concert. 1st edition was in 2004 in Parque da Bela Vista, Lisbon.
It was the second time I saw James here in Portugal on a live show. First show was on June 3rd, 2012 also at Rock In Rio but in the usual space, Parque da Bela Vista, Lisbon. I went there on that day to see Bruce Springsteen. On that day I saw 1st Kaiser Chiefs, then was James, then Xutos & Pontapés and then Bruce Springsteen.
I arrived at Garden of Torre de Belém, Rock In Rio at 8 am. Arrived there in front of Torre de Belém to try to find the gates to get in. As it was free I could get inside the garden. About 10 or 11 am other James fans arrived. From UK, Mexico and even from Canada. Very awesome people super fans of James. I stayed with them all day.
Close to 11:50 am James come to the stage to do the soundcheck. Awesome to see them. Very hot weather. Tim Booth (vocalist) asked to put there some shades. And they finish the soundcheck on the shades. They finish at around 1:10 pm.
Before James We got at 9 pm the video mapping projected on the three faces of the Belém Tower, telling the story of the 15 years of Rock In Rio in Portugal. And it was freaking awesome.
Finally was time for James. They started the show at 21h15 and played for 93 minutes.
James perform a 16-song set at Rock in Rio Festival.
